Acquire the Fire is a Christian teen youth conference that has events all over America and even Canada with a full length drama, worship, concerts, and teachings. For over 20 years Acquire The Fire has been more than just a conference with great teaching, more than a concert with the top Christian bands, and more than you’ve ever experienced! Acquire The Fire is tens of thousands of youth coming together over 27 hours to be set apart from the distractions and influences of the world, long enough to encounter God in a total revolution of the heart. Many teens today are spending their time, money, and passion on pursuing “things” in order to bring them happiness. However, the best “things” in life…are not things at all; true lasting joy is found in pursuing that which is eternal. ATF has created a unique environment that brings lasting life change through compelling dramas, anointed worship, exciting Christian bands, and powerful teaching and preaching…over 2.7 million teens have been reached and will never be the same! Acquire the Fire is a branch off of Teen Mania Ministries founded by Ron Luce.
With that said, Acquire the Fire is impacting lives throughout North America and parts of Canada for Jesus and it obviously takes human beings to make these events happen, which brings me to the meaning of this blog.
My name is MaKayla Stubbs, I am one of the Road Managers to the young adults known as the "Ministry Team." The Ministry Team is a group of usually 34 interns who put on these Acquire the Fire events. They live on a bus, known as "Captain America"
These interns have given up 2+years of their lives, left the comfort of their homes and family; and are traveling city to city striving to see the teens of America on fire for God. Before deciding to travel with Acquire the Fire they went through Teen Manias internship called, The Honor Academy which taught them high levels of leadership through intense spiritual training. If you would like to see what the Honor Academy specifically is you can go online to (www.honoracademy.com) So like I said, the Ministry Team is 34 individuals who have specific jobs through Acquire the Fire and help run every single ATF event.

They set up AND run the lights, video, audio, and merchandise booths. They run the registration, pass out buckets during offering, help youth groups find their seats during the event, pass out information and fliers for sessions, run the small breakouts during the event, take care of and serve the bands and speakers, set up the bands and speakers greenrooms, take care of the logistics and last minute finances for the venue and event, run the logistics and financial revenue we bring in through merch, take care of volunteers who come out to help run the event, maintain the safety of every attendee, act in the drama, andddddddd thats all I can think of right now. Anything you see at an ATF, the Minsitry Team is running!! (besides the concessions haha) So with that said, they do everything you see at ATF and work about 45+hours in 3 days to make these events happen every single weekend!

This years theme for ATF is "Relentless Pursuit" and we have 33 people on this years Ministry Team. Because these 33 interns are just that, INTERNS, it means they are not paid for the jobs they are doing. Teen Mania is a non profit organization, so as these Ministry Teamers serve ATF by the jobs they do this year, they are actually PAYING to be apart of the Ministry Team. They pay $450 to Teen Mania every month, totaling to $5400 for the year to do what they do. This money goes to housing them on our campus in Garden Valley, TX, food for the year, and all the other expenses it takes Teen Mania to house them on campus and off. These young adults are like traveling missionaries, serving where they can on campus on off seasons with Acquire the Fire and serving in their jobs while on tour with Acquire the Fire. Most of the Ministry Teams family cannot afford to pay the $450 a month and have to raise financial support to stay with Teen Mania. Now because Teen Mania is a non profit organization, they cannot keep interns who cannot keep up with their finances, so interns who do not keep up have to move back home.
The reason this blog was created was for you to actually see the members of the Ministry Team and understand who they are and what they do with Acquire the Fire and bring awareness to the financial support that some members are in need of to stay with Teen Mania and on tour with Acquire the Fire. My hopes is that you will see a member and the Lord speaks to you about helping support them financially and praying for them daily!

Every year the ministry team changes as these interns continue with the team, or move on with what the Lord has in store for them next. Every year there are ministry team interns in need, and every year someone is sent home due to not having the finances to stay. Please pray about donating to a ministry team intern this year! I know their year is almost over (there internship is over in August) but their work is not and neither is their need for support! After the ATF tour is over in May, they will head back to campus in Garden Valley, TX and work production on campus or help with Teen Manias summer operations like, Global Expeditions ( www.globalexpeditions.com), Extreme Camps (www.extremecamps.com), or other jobs amongst the Honor Academy Internship.

I want to say thank you so much! I pray you will share this blog with everyone you know and I will be updating this on tour as much as I can and over the summer! My hopes is that this blog is used year after year for the ministry team and will be passed onto whoever will be the Road Manager next year :) Please pray about possibly "adopting" a ministry team intern in need starting next August as well. Ive had the thought of these interns being American missionaries and a church or church family taking the responsibility to pay an interns full tuition every month.
